Case Study

Documentary Film

ArtsFund hired us to produce four short films to bring their research to life in an accessible and engaging way for their audience of advocates, policymakers and community leaders. After aligning with and synthesizing the research collected to date by SMU DataArts, our team travelled across Washington State to film interviews and programming of three organizations whose work and presence plays an integral role in their communities: Field Hall in Port Angeles; Yakima Music En Acción in Yakima; and the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture in Spokane.

We created three “Spotlight” videos that profiled each organization as standalone pieces that demonstrate their importance and impact within their community.  We also created one “anthem” video – co-authoring a script for ArtsFund’s CEO Michael Greer to deliver that

The Need

ArtsFund is not only Washington State’s leading arts & cultural philanthropic organization – granting TKTKT numbers – but also leads advocacy with in-depth data collection and research to demonstrate the power and necessity of arts and culture for the benefit of all. In 2023, ArtsFund commissioned a study to understand the impact that access to arts and culture has on the economic and social health of communities across Washington State. In partnership with the research SMU DataArts, they TKTKKT.
